Cuckoo Bush Cottage

"An adorable little 1800s cottage with a garden – simple, unpretentious and filled with the owner's colourful art on walls and lampshades"

Cuckoo Bush Cottage is a small cottage next to my studio in Little Barningham in North Norfolk, which we have carefully restored and curated with my artworks to create a 'home away from home'.

The cottage is set in a peaceful village inland from the coast and away from the stream of summer traffic along the coast road.

Walk into a delightful cosy sitting room, painted green and hung with original artworks. Sit facing the wood-burner and watch the television which is cleverly hidden behind a painted cupboard.

The small but well equipped kitchen faces south and leads into a quiet garden, which is the perfect place to eat breakfast in the summer.

The downstairs bathroom has a wonderful, comfortable traditional bath and is filled with light from a skylight window.

A steep cottage staircase, not suitable for people with mobility issues leads to two bedrooms.  The main bedroom has a very comfortable standard size tradition brass and iron bed.  The second room has a small 2'6'' mattress, again, very comfortable.

The cottage is warm and inviting and well positioned to experience the best of Norfolk in all seasons.

Norfolk is renowned for its big skies, beaches, coastal pathways, wildlife, Stately Homes, along with many pubs and restaurants.
